Annie Oakley was a famous sharpshooter who traveled with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show for years. A Is for Annie was inspired by a studio photograph of her made around 1899 at the height of her career. The bodice of her dress is festooned with some of her many competition medals
and ribbons. She retired in 1913 and died in 1926.
